Accessibility statement

We want as many people as possible to be able to understand and use the Caring Companions website.

Our accessibility aim

We aim to make this website clear, straightforward and usable by people with different access needs. The site is designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA in mind. A final accessibility review will be completed before launch, so this statement does not claim full compliance yet.

What you should be able to do

  • Navigate the main content using a keyboard
  • Use the skip link to move past repeated navigation
  • Zoom and enlarge text without losing essential content
  • Read the site on mobile, tablet and desktop screens
  • Use meaningful headings and link descriptions to find information
  • Understand photographs through alternative text where they convey information
  • Avoid unnecessary movement and animation

Known limitations

The official Care Inspectorate Wales widget and the published annual-return page contain content provided or generated by CIW. Their presentation and accessibility are not wholly within our control. We will keep these areas under review and offer the same information in another reasonable format when requested.

Report an accessibility problem

If you cannot access information, find a link that does not work or need help using the site, please call Caring Companions on 01656 729550 or use our Contact Us page. Tell us which page caused the problem and what support would help. We will respond as clearly and promptly as we can.

Ongoing review

We will test the website across common screen sizes and input methods before launch, review it when significant changes are made and correct accessibility problems that are within our control.
