Companionship Care
Companionship care is often the most underestimated form of support — yet it can make the greatest difference to wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.

Many people can manage day-to-day tasks, but feel increasingly isolated, anxious, or disconnected from normal life.
Companionship care provides warm, reliable presence and gentle structure — helping people feel supported, valued, and more connected, while remaining independent in their own home.
A Calm and Consistent Presence
At Caring Companions, companionship is never “sitting in a room”. It is active, attentive support delivered with genuine human presence.
Our carers take time to build trust and familiarity. The aim is to help a person feel at ease, reduce loneliness, and bring reassurance into everyday life.
What Companionship Care Can Include
Companionship care is flexible and shaped around the individual. It may include:
- Friendly conversation and emotional reassurance
- Shared activities such as reading, puzzles, music, or hobbies
- Support to maintain routines and structure during the day
- Help preparing simple meals and encouraging hydration
- Support with correspondence, appointments, or light admin
- Accompaniment on local walks or sitting in the garden
- Support to attend local groups, shops, or community activities, such as a trip to Porthcawl Promenade or the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.
A Respectful and Professional Approach
Companionship care is delivered with the same professionalism as any other care service. Caring Companions is fully regulated by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), and our carers are recruited, trained, and supported to deliver safe, respectful care.
